To Be A Car Mechanic?

Is there any free online manuals or sites i could read to learn how to do certain things on cars? Like if i want to change an alternator I could go to the %26quot;Change An Alternator%26quot; section? To Be A Car Mechanic?
http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker

But that just shows how to take parts off and put them on for the most part. If you wanna be a real mechanic, you should learn how stuff works, so you know which parts need replacing.

Yes. Check out%26quot; www. Advanceautoparts.com%26quot; to start. In stead of on-line manuals they have on-line videos, they also have hand out pamphlet's in store on most auto repairs. You need to look around the trade stores were you live. Maybe you should look in to a vocational trade school in you area. The Auto parts have the hand out and on-line stuff. to help you change parts so you will buy from them. But remember %26quot;nothing is for free any more.%26quot; the real good trade reference auto manuals have charges to use there service. You might be ahead going to a book store and just buying a Auto repair manual. I have see some in collage book stores. I use to every 4/5 years buy a Motors %26quot;Motors Manual' just to keep up on change that the manufacture were making in there cars and truck. I now have boxes of manuals and auto repair manuals going back to the 40s. Hope you find what you are looking for. and good luck to you. I would have to go to back to school to learn how to work on new cars.
