1988 cadillac brougham runs but NO CHARGE light stays on?

my 1988 brougham was running fine, all of a sudden the %26quot; no charge%26quot; light came on, everything seems ok, thelights are bright everything works. however i noticed that the radio stopped working and now the car has a tough time cranking over, but it does. i just replaced the alternator 3 months ago, noe when i take the negative cable off the battery, it dies. the parts place where i got the alternator said to check the fuses( i dont know which ones, i dont have the owners manual) check the fuse on the alternator? and check a fusible link? how do i do this and what else do i need to check, where can i get an online list of the fuse block? there is a tech alert about changing this alternator and checking a fuse relating to this light, this is on the autozone parts price list

should i just change the alternator? the belt is new1988 cadillac brougham runs but NO CHARGE light stays on?
Sounds like a bad alternator. If you take the car to autozone or advanced they will check it for free. You can also take the alternator off and have them check it. You may also just have a bad connection when you last changed the alternator. Sometimes they can work themselves loose or a clip on the connector breaks. I would check the connections to the alternator first then pull it off and have it tested. That way you know if it is the alternator or wiring going to the alternator. If you have a big stereo installed then you need to get a higher amp alternator and caps for your stereo amp to keep from burning up the alternator again.1988 cadillac brougham runs but NO CHARGE light stays on?

The fusable link is in your Pos wire from your battery, follow it and you should come to a black heat shrinked area. As for the fuses, here's a link.....http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairG
