92 Camry, how hard it is to change the alternator on my own?

Thanks a lot.92 Camry, how hard it is to change the alternator on my own?
wow, about the easiest alt in the world. you need a 14mm, a 12mm and a 10mm and a mechanical mind. thats bout it. Just remember to disconnect your battery before you decided to jump into this..... somehow Im worried about this situation. (IM NOT RESPONSIBLE WHEN YOU SHORT OUT YOUR CAR ;) )92 Camry, how hard it is to change the alternator on my own?
You'll need a set of metric sockets and/or combination wrenches. It's not all that terribly difficult. The hard part will be getting the belt reinstalled; that may take some extra work. When you get the new alternator, check to see that it is the same as the one you're replacing, then make note of where it is located on the engine. Loosen the bolts, (disconnect the wires first), then slide the old alternator toward the engine. Remove the bolts and remove the alternator from the bracket. To install the new one, simply reverse the process. It's not rocket science, but it does take some work and thought before attempting the job. Good luck!92 Camry, how hard it is to change the alternator on my own?
it shouldn't be too hard. i suggest taking some digital pictures before you take it apart. if you can't do that make notes of where wires and bolts are connected. i like to make a list of everything i do and every part i take off. when i put it back together i start at the bottom of the list and work back to the top checking things off.
