How do you change the alternator...?

My husband is working on changing the alternator on our four cylinder- 91' chevy cavalier. He is having trouble... does anyone know how to take him through this process...?? thank you.

we would take it to get looked at, but we cant start it.How do you change the alternator...?
Remove the alternator restraint bracket screws. Next, using a 15mm(I'm not quite sure if that's right) wrench turn the tensioner bolt located on the left side of the engine block. Turn just enough to push back and down. The tensioner should move loosening the belt and freeing the tension from the alternator.

Then, remove all of the screws securing the alternator. Disconnect the electric ground cable from the rear of the alternator. Remove the alternator. Installing the new one is just in reverse.

The belt might be a little hard to get on/off. Don't fight with it, it the belts a little too tight, just loosen the tension. How do you change the alternator...?
The alternator is normally held on with 2 bolts. It should be as simple as disconnecting the wires going to the alternator and removing those bolts. How do you change the alternator...?
I'm not familiar with this car, so I'll pose my thought as a question: Is there an idler that provides tension to the belt? If so, would it be a good idea to loosen the idler in order to make belt handling easier? How do you change the alternator...?
take off the old one and put in the new oneHow do you change the alternator...?
you should have 2 bolts on it and a plug-in. disconnect the battery, take the belt off, unhook the alternator, take the 2 bolts out and it should come off.
