Find the tensioner on the serpentine belt. This will release pressure off of the belt, allowing you to slip it off the alternator. Also, check for the condition of the belt, as it would be a good time to chnage it while it is loose, as belts usually last less than the components that they wrap on. If this is the original belt, check for cracks or heavy wear to it.How do i change the alternator on my 98 cavalier z24?
